Please.... before you call or email us, read the general Guidelines, fee schedule, rules, regulations, and how to contact us thoroughly.

The Woodlawn Community Center is owned by the Woodlawn Community and not any single person or family, it is run completely by volunteers, and there is no one at the community center on a daily basis. Please respect that the people who help run the building have regular jobs, and families, and do not call on weekends or holidays or before or after regular business hours during the week.

If you would like to see the inside of the building before deciding whether it is the right venue for your event , appointments can be made to see the inside the building. Please contact us to do so.

Phone calls outside regular business hours M-F 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. will not be answered unless you are currently occupying the building and are in need of immediate assistance.

Please allow up to 48 - 72 hours for phone calls and emails to be answered. We strive to return phone calls and emails within 24 - 48 hours but sometimes it may take up to 72 hours.

No More Second Saturday Markets

The Woodlawn Monthly Market has been canceled due to not enough interest from the public, or vendors. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. We truly felt this would be a unique opportunity for the community and surrounding areas to buy locally made items, and produce. However there was not enough shopping public to support the vendors who came out, which led to not enough vendors for the shopping public. If you found a vendor you particularly liked and would like to shop with them please let us know and we will let you know where you can find them if we know.

Thank you to all of you who came out and supported our local talent, and thank you to the vendors who really tried to help make the market another great venue for artists & crafters alike to sell their products to the local citizens of Alamance County.

~~For all events & functions a $100 deposit must be secured to hold your date. You will receive this deposit back after your event provided there are no damages to any part of the building and no additional clean up is required by us. this may be provided in cash or a check made payable to Woodlawn Community Center.

~~Mornings 8:30 am - 11:00am $30.00
Noon 12:00pm - 3pm $45.00
Evenings 4:00pm - 8pm $65.00

Each additional hour needed will be charged at $10.00 an hour.

~~~~~PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE ANY SET UP AND BREAKDOWN/CLEAN UP TIME IN YOUR TIME NEEDED. (I.E. PARTY STARTS AT 6PM UNTIL 10 PM YOU NEED TO BE IN BUILDING AT 4PM TO DECORATE AND WILL NOT VACATE BUILDING UNTIL 12 MIDNIGHT THAT IS 8 TOTAL HOURS SO YOUR RENTAL FEE WOULD BE $105.00)~~~

****If you are interested in teaching a class at the community center Time is available Monday -Friday daytime, and Monday - Thursday evenings. No Friday Night Classes.
Fees are as follows:

$30.00 per class session of 1 - 3 hours if you book one class per week. ( 3 hours)
$20.00 per class session of 1 -3 hours if you book 4 or more days a week. (12 or more hours)
$15.00 per class session of 1 - 2 hours if you book 4 or more days for an entire month. (32 or more hours)

ENTIRE DAY RENTALS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

An entire day from 8am until midnight.........$175.00

An entire weekend from 4pm Friday until midnight Saturday......$250.00
To include Sunday also an additional $75.00 for a total of $325.00

All the Legal Stuff for Renters

~Rules and regulations shall apply to any one person, group, club, individual, family group, school classes, athletic group (private, organized, or professional) using the grounds, building, parking lot, driveway, or any other facility or area on the legal property known as "Historically Restored Woodlawn Property", or any other name this property acquires or it's Board of Directors.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors shall not be responsible for any injury acquired by playing, visiting, partying, meeting, or working here, hospital visit or otherwise.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors, shall not be responsible for any vehicle damage damage from either vandalism (glass, paint, or tire, etc. etc) nor shall we be responsible for any act of nature including but not limited to tornado's, hurricanes, floods, straight winds, or hail storms, snow or ice, etc. etc. Nor shall we be responsible for any of your property stolen from your vehicle or the community center.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors shall not be held liable for any food pathogens, or food borne illness acquired by any group or persons using the facility for parties, family reunions, etc, etc.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors shall not be held responsible for insect bites, snake bites or any other wild or domestic animal bites or any anaphylactic reactions to any of these bites.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors, shall not be responsible or liable for any stolen personnel property such as cameras, video equipment, or other electronic equipment used or left on the property.

~Even though firearms are strictly prohibited on the premises , the historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors shall not be responsible or liable for any incident or injury caused by or occurrence involving any firearms what so ever.

~The historically restored Woodlawn property or it's Board of Directors shall be held responsible for any personal losses due to fire or water damage as a result of treatment of fire.

Rules & Regulations

*You must be 21 yrs of age to rent facility

*No firearms what so ever are allowed on the property

*No animals allowed in the building (except for service animals)

* Please inform guests of parking lot and if this is not enough space guests may park on the side of the Community Center Road off of the road along the black fence . ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING IN DRIVEWAYS OR YARDS OF houses close to the community center YOU WILL BE TOWED for blocking the the main gravel road or anyone's driveway or if you are in their yard.

*NO loud music after 10pm on weekdays...NO loud music after 11pm on weekends
**PLEASE keep all music at a level as not to disturb the Community Centers neighbors**

*The Woodlawn Board reserves the right to review the proposed usage of the community center and to not allow rental to groups with an inappropriate or questionable meeting agenda. The center is for family and family type gatherings. No gangs or gang related agendas.

*Rentals are granted on a first come, first serve basis, however, if someone else wants the same date and you have not made your deposit, and we can not reach you within 24 hours, you forfeit your date.

*No smoking in the building...period. If there is smoking outside and there are excessive cigarette remains on the grounds you will be charged a butt removal fee.

*If anyone provokes potentially harmful actions to persons at the facility, either guest or invited persons, they will be removed by any means necessary.

*No exit at any time shall be blocked by tables & chairs. The bar on the front doors must be removed during every function.

*No alcohol to be served on premises. You may contact us for special circumstances.

*Candles must be drip less or floating in water.

*At the end of your event or function you must clean the building (remove all trash, sweep, mop,clean bathrooms, if you used the kitchen you must also clean all appliances you used, make sure there are no spills in refrigerator/microwave/floors clean and wipe up all counters and sink. All cleaning supplies may be found in the kitchen cabinets. We do supply trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper) If you have any questions please ask us.

*No food is to be left in the refrigerator.

*You need to provide everything you will need for serving food. Serving utensils, plates, cups, bowls, napkins, condiments, items to take home your leftovers, plastic wrap, foil, etc, etc......anything you would need. There are no supplies at the center.

A great big thank you to all of the vendors who came out & participated in this event.

We were so disappointed in the turn out of shoppers. We listed this event on the cable channel, The City of Mebane's website, The Times-News, The Mebane Enterprise, we handed out over 500 fliers to daycares, and throughout Mebane businesses, and sent around an email to be forwarded to everyone we could, and we had a sign in front of the school. We don't know why hardly anyone came out to shop. Even our bake sale and hot dog lunch did not do well, and they usually bring us lots of crowd.

After talking to several vendors we have decided it must have been the heat. Most of you felt it would be better to do this in the fall. Please bare with us as we figure this out. We will possibly do this again in the fall and if you paid for space and set up with us on the 27th of June, you will receive an awesome discount on your space in the fall if you choose to set up with us again. We will be sending a letter out to all of the vendors who participated.
